About 2 weeks into 2025 and made my first visit to one of my favorite staples: Yummy Yummy Noodle! The baby was feeling under the weather and we wanted to get her some congee and living in the northside there are very limited options. It was either go to Argyle, Uptown which was ~ 25 min away or pay premium prices in Lincoln Park locations. So it was a no brainer to hit up Chinatown. We almost ordered at China Wok/D Cuisine but Yummy Yummy Congee was $3 less! Then on top of that we managed to get 2 additional dishes which would have been the price of 1 for the other places. Fish Fillet Congee - 10/10 even if it was for my daughter I had to 'taste test' & it slapped. So good she had 3 bowls! Beef brisket & tendon (wide egg) Noddle Soup - 100/10 always hits! & this type I remembered the right noddle type. Last time had the rice noodle because I forgot what I had the first time and it wasn't the same. Good but wide egg middle is better imo Salt & Pepper Porkchop - 7.5/10 It was good and also very generous amount of protein portion but maybe since it was take out, it lost the extra crispness that it usually comes with All in all worth ~15 min drive there and sitting in traffic to go home and the food was still hot too. Love this place!

Amazing food, fast service, great prices! Our family ate here after finding it on Yelp. You can see the food after we devoured about half of it. We had orange chicken, Kung pao chicken, pan seared beef noodles, egg drop soup, and vegetable fried rice. All were excellent and each person had a different favorite. Highly recommend!

no nonsense Chinese food restaurant. Very good deals. Price is low. 10 dollars for a large entree in Chicago's Chinatown. It was seasoned well. Off a side street but well worth it. I will definitely come back. Service was fast. And it was quiet inside. Wasn't too busy when we were there.

This is another gem for all of you noodle or soup lovers. The one handy thing that makes them stand out is that when you order you get choose from sizes of the particular noodles you rather have. And when it comes to the meat choices, they all so juicy and flavorful! I recommend the brisket , it will literally melt in your mouth. They also serve you pretty fast so don't worry if you are coming hangry lol. Can't wait to come back again.

A hidden gem, amazing value, and so so cozy! Tucked away in Chinatown, serving fresh noodles & delicious entrees. Ambiance: the space is actually pretty big and has tables for small to large parties. Reminds me of family restaurants I ate at growing up Service: Quick & friendly service - waters were always filled up! I will say it's best to pay by going up to the counter yourself. You'll be compensated in fortune cookies Food: - Each bowl of noodles was less than $10. A clean flavorful broth with fresh noodles and so much delicious protein - Highly recommend the roast duck and barbecue pork (not pictured) - Those fried fishballs are unassuming and so flavorful, amazing values as well - also not pictured are their salt & pepper chicken wings - SO FRESH and comes with a heaping scoop of rice With no doubts, definitely one of my favorite spots in Chinatown

Good clean place off of the main Chinatown street. The lady was very nice and felt like this is what a Chinese meal at home might be like. She was very helpful. The place was clean and the prices were very reasonable. We ordered the pan fried beef noodles and combination fried rice. Two dishes between 3 kids and 2 adults and it was enough food for the family. The food came out fast, was fresh and very tasty. Like a comfort meal that you would want if you were looking for a no frills, good tasting, one style Chinese food. It was exactly what the doctor ordered and we ate it up. Great experience and will be coming again when we are in Chicago. Definitely worth the drive from the burbs and top notch service. For a little over 25 bucks, the cheapest meal we had while visiting Chicago.

Pretty good noodle spot. Stopped by the fair and happen to see this noodle spot. There was a lot of people but got seated pretty quickly. The service was pretty fast and they were really attentive too when I asked for water, extra sauce and take out. The wide egg noodles are a must get and add some vinegar for some extra flavoring. The restaurant itself can get a bit loud and it looks pretty old but it is a pretty average local chinese restaurant.

Finally went here and can say it is one of my favorite spots in Chicago for just yummy comfort food now! Prices are great, portions are big, and food is delicious - what more can you ask for? Okay, I would ask that they stay open a bit later. They say they close at 9 but they close early like at 8:30 depending on the day and how many customers they have. So we were pretty rushed even showing up at 7:50. I'd still come back to try some of the other soups but it's a little hard when we work late.
